Creating an Integrated Society
3rd Annual Peace Conference, Den Haag, 2018
Majlis Ansarullah Nederland successfully concluded its 3rdannual Peace Conference on the 10thof November 2018, at Masjid Mubarak, Den Haag. The conference highlighted the theme of “Creating an Integrated Society” with the objectives of promoting Peace, Harmony, Understanding and Dialogue among the various segments of society.
An audience of more than 125 people, including more than 65 non-Ahmadi guests comprising members of local and regional government, NGO’s, the synagogue, church, Buddhist temple, and various other dignitaries and guests attended the event.
The Conference was chaired by Hibatun Noor Verhagen sahib, National President (Amir) of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nederland. The conference started with the recitation of Holy Quran with the Dutch translation. Dr. Zubair Akmal, Qaid Tabligh Majlis Ansarullah, moderated the Conference, introducing the efforts of Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Internationally.
Sadr Majlis Ansarullah Mirza Fakhar Ahmad introduced the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat to the guests, and the activities of Majlis Ansarullah Nederland, he also outlined the objectives of conducting such events like Peace Conference and Charity Walk. Sadr Majlis highlighted the efforts undertaken by the Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, Hadhart Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V (atba) to promote peace and harmony among the different faiths, creeds and races of people globally.
Mr. Bert van Alphen highlighted the efforts of Den Haag Town Council to make Den Haag one of the most peaceful cities in the world and how the council is assisting people to integrate in the society. Mr. Harry Z. Knot provide the point of view and an insight which Liberal Jews Federation is doing to promote integration and peace amongst citizens of the country.
Mr. Johan Van Gemert of Roman Catholic Church Eindhoven spoke on the role played by the Roman Catholic Church in bring people together and how it is helping new arrivals to the Nederland to integrate in the society. The last speaker of the day Ms. Miao yi Shih of He Hua Temple Buddhist Temple in Amsterdam- Nederland.
Ameer Jamaat Nederland, Hibatun Noer Verhagen sahib, shared the real teachings of Islam and how Jama’at Ahmadiyya is practicing it, and actively promoting its motto of “Love for all – Hatred for none. Amir sahib also spoke on how these teachings are implemented in the daily lives of each and every Ahmadi around the world as well as in Nederland, Jama’at Ahmadiyya is distributing books and folders to remove the misunderstanding about Islam and how this is helping society to integrate in a better way.
A video of Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih V (atba) travels around the world for the promotion and establishment of peace was shown to participants. Proceedings concluded with a question answer session and silent prayers led by Missionary Incharge Naeem Ahmad Warraich sahib. A Cheque Presentation Ceremony was held in which nine representative charities were given funds raised by the Annual Charity Walk held on the 1stof September 2018. In total, cheques equivalent to nearly €17.000 were distributed. The charities included Humanity First, Child Life, Childs Life, Defense for Children, Diabetes Fonds, Terre Des Home, Mundo Younido and UNICEF.
